Electric hype?

All these big companies talking about going full electric by some future date always felt like a cheap trick to me. Like they just want us to buy those gas bikes while we can. I'm still not convinced they'll actually pull off a decent electric ride. I haven't seend any. Speaking of which what's the latest on Honda's electric motorcycles? Are they even close to releasing something good or is it all just smoke and mirrors?

Honda has a few electric motorcycles in the works, like the EM1 e: and future models, they're quiet serious, but performance still lags behind gas bikes, and progress is so slow.
